Their Bio:
We are Maggie and Lily of Thistle & Spire a Brooklyn based lingerie company supporting women in pushing boundaries, breaking rules, and melting hearts.
We have always believed that lingerie is for yourself. As awkward teens growing up we found power in lingerie. That tiny secret to give you an extra confidence boost. No one was interested in kissing us as teens, let alone see our underwear! So lingerie became truly for us. We juxtapose luxe fabrics and alluring architectural details mirroring the mult-faceted sides of being a woman. After all, it’s what’s on the inside that counts ;)

Highlights Of the Session:
Boudoir Submission | Photography by Mallory
Here is what Photography By Mallory had to say about this session:
"Boudoirs are all about us women encouraging one another, lifting each other up, and showing each other just how amazing we really are. I fully believe that every woman is beautiful. More often that not, we hide behind our flaws and insecurities, when we really should be embracing those so called "flaws". They're not flaws, they are what makes us unique and different from one another. And damn-it, I think those unique differences are gorgeous. Jessy was proof that every woman is beautiful! She was at first nervous - but then totally nailed her session. "

Brand Collaboration | DesignerShare X Burgundy Fox
If you are looking for ways to wear lingerie with luxury designer clothes, then look no further. We are so excited to bring you a new collaboration. We have partnered with Designer Share and Zip Fit Denim to give you the Designer Share winter lookbook featuring some of our favorite pieces! Below we have a sneak peek of the photo shoot collab, click here to see the full announcement.
DesignerShare is the first truly peer-to-peer marketplace for women to rent their designer clothing and accessories to one another. What do we mean by this? Simple: We allow our users to connect directly and get to know each other—you’re opening yourself to amazing new pieces and friends in one place.
Our goal is to allow women to look and feel fabulous all while expanding their networks—it’s about building each other up and feeling your most confident. Call us fashion feminists, if you will.
DesignerShare was started by Sarah Perkins and Bill Meyer, a couple of family friends who came together on a sharing business dream with a fashion twist.
Sarah has always loved sharing her clothes and accessories with friends. But she never realized the idea could be a full-blown enterprise until college when she was lending out party dresses to her peers regularly—and not wanting to wear the same thing over and over again. From this, DesignerShare was born.

Wedding Session | Jessica Hunt Photography
Here is what Jessica Hunt Photography had to say about this session:
"Heather is the bride that's found the perfect balance between a bohemian and an elegant feel to her wedding day look. She's getting married on November 12th of this year in her grandparents' back yard, but first we had to take the time to celebrate her as a bride! Everything from her suede little heels to the ornate flower crown came together perfectly for her bridal session. Heather's gown is TO DIE FOR, with a low back and classic feel, while her florals and vintage shoes compliment her bo-ho feel juuuuust right. This is seriously one bridal session that you won't want to miss!?"

Brand Profile: Pop Box
Today we are sittiing down with Pop Box co-founders, Anne-Marie and Randy to learn more about Pop Box. Pop Box is a permanent pop-up shop that rotates installations every quarter. The first Pop Box will run from October 30th - December 24th, 2017 and will be the first store to exclusively feature subscription box companies.
Pop Box partners with online brands to present shoppers with exciting new products they might never have come across otherwise — even online. Every quarter, a new lifestyle theme – or installation as they call it – is introduced along with an offering of exciting new brands that will bring the theme to life.
Pop Box focuses on partnering with the best-in-breed of each category for every installation. Because of this, each participating brand maintains category exclusivity.
The store is fully staffed with helpful and enthusiastic brand ambassadors who are specially trained to be knowledgeable and always available to demonstrate or explain a product to customers.
Throughout the installation, a calendar of on-premise activities and events offers customers new and fun reasons to visit and revisit the store. These events are designed be informational, entertaining and to immerse shoppers in the brand(s) experience.
While Pop Box itself is permanent, the pop up installations disappear quickly! The short-term nature of the pop-up shops help create a sense of excitement and urgency, while the unique merchandise selection promotes sense of discovery and delight.
Come visit and experience Pop Box at our primary location: 1024 West Armitage Avenue, Chicago, IL.
Burgundy Fox: I've heard many people say PopBox is a genius concept and I agree. Tell us about the genesis of PopBox, and how did you validate the demand for it?
Pop Box:
Pop Box was founded after observing the aches and pains of traditional retail. It’s not hard to find a headline declaring its demise these days. We know this not to be true, however. Customers expectations of retail have been re-shaped because they can now get the boring shopping out of the way online. This means when they do go out to a store, they expect memorable experiences and the ability to discover, try, touch, and feel products they would otherwise only find online.
Our validation came quickly when we started reaching out to online brands. Many of our partners had already looked at retail options or attempted to do it themselves but backed out because of the immense challenges, cost, and bandwidth required in opening a physical store.
BF: You are both serial entrepreneurs, but this is your first venture together. What would you say are the recipes for a good business partnership?
PB: Before anything, there is a mutual respect and trust that is very difficult to find in a co-founder. This is a critical foundation for every business.
Retail is an art and a science. I see myself as the science piece and Anne-Marie is the artist. We complement each other in that way, but also have enough overlap that we’re able to see all sides of the business and catch things before they become problems.
We both have the intense work ethic it takes to run a successful business as well. We also spend part of each of our calls asking how the other is doing. Our families and mental wellness are priorities because we know the business will flourish under those optimal circumstances.
BF: So far, what has been the most challenging and most rewarding part of launching Pop Box?
PB: The most challenging part was bootstrapping an entire retail shop with only the best partners and limited resources, which meant no room for mistakes. This speaks volume about how incredible our team really is.
The rewarding part is easy. To see the store and our partner’s stories finally come to life was truly amazing. We believe the store is one of a kind and that our incredible staff can tell our partner’s stories in ways that it’s simply not possible to do online.
BF: Where do each of you draw business inspiration from?
PB co-founder, Anne-Marie: I eat, sleep, and breathe trend! Anything from design to business to consumer trends. I also seemyself and my friends as the customer and shopper. What are we responding to? What do we dislike? How have our habits changed over the last 5 or 10 years? We are all shoppers.
PB co-founder, Randy: For me, running a business is my oxygen. I love the challenges that each company and idea present. I also love interacting with people and our partners. They’re excitement for their products gets me excited to show them off in a completely new way they’ve never imagined. I come from a software background, so getting into retail was exactly the new challenge I’ve been looking for.
BF: What do you see in the future of PopBox? What can readers/customers look forward to next, short or long term?
PB co-founder, Anne-Marie: More discovery. We will be bringing lifestyle themes to life through exciting brand new partnerships and our unique style of events.
PB co-founder, Randy: Pop Box has some exciting new technology coming that will make the shopping experience even more immersive that it currently is. We want to push the boundaries of what a customer expects each time they visit our store. We’ll also be looking to expand and take on funding going into 2018.

Witchy Boudoir Submission: Spencer Studios
We are all in for the Halloween spirit with this witchy styled boudoir submission from Spencer Studios! Click through the images below to see how this intimate witchy boudoir sessions will put a spell on you!
Witchy Halloween Boudoir Inspiration Shoot | Spencer Studios
Here is what Spencer Studios had to say about this session:
"Something wicked this way comes...Halloween is an opportunity that comes around once a year to don a costume and become someone or something else. This witchy shoot was inspired by classic witchcraft elements and beautiful black lingerie from Bluebella. We chose black, white, and gold as a simple yet striking and elegant color palette. A bed scene, with a black gothic headboard was the main studio setting, along with a simple dark grey to highlight the model, and a beautiful window. Our model personified beauty and a little bit of witchy mischief. Along with the dark decor, we had some dark candied apples, and a spider cake with a surprise inside. Oct 31st could not come fast enough!"

Brand Profile: Silent Arrow
Carly Stirling is the senior Designer at Silent Arrow, lingerie for women who are unafraid to be seen and is made for women by women. Created by Melbourne based 90’s street wear turned lingerie designer Kelly Barrett, Silent Arrow is made for women, by women. Like you, we’re done with the trade off between feeling hot and feeling comfortable. A provocative play on the b-girl style of our early beginnings, we design using flexible, high quality microfiber and soft, flirty mesh. Our form is bold, our vibe is fierce and our design team has sketched literally millions of your faithful smalls so we know how to make you feel fucking amazing. We caught up with Carly about her work with the brand.
Burgundy Fox: Tell us about your work with Silent Arrow. What is it like to be a Senior Designer at Silent Arrow?
Carly Stirling: Designing for Silent Arrow allows me to use so many of my skills. I have a background in retail, product development, garment technology and graphic design, and I get to learn more every day! I know that sounds insane; I’m only 29 and started working in the fashion industry when I was 15, then full time at 19 after graduating from a Fashion School in Melbourne, Australia.
There is so much involved in the day-to-day. I go from trend analysis to design & development, choosing fabrics, fitting bras and knickers, working on production schedules and then on to creating and launching products on the website. I get to be involved with social media and marketing as well as photoshoots and the more visually creative side of the brand. Every day is full of problem solving and brainstorming which is challenging but can be pretty fun. It’s a place of ideas, innovation and showing creativity.
We recently did a trade show in New York where we got to network with hundreds of amazing women who are also working in lingerie. This is where I met Leslie from Burgundy Fox.
Silent Arrow, still being a new label, has allowed me to have an amazing creative outlet, more so than any other brand I’ve worked on. Our Founder and Creative Director, Kelly Barrett, has taught me a lot about the industry since we first met more than 10 years ago.
The majority of my work is on private labelling for other brands which can be pretty restrictive, so when Silent Arrow was born it was an amazing opportunity to do something daring, break rules and push limits. There is no idea that’s too extreme, we want to push boundaries.
BF: Tell us about Silent Arrow + You, underwear donation, how has it affected and empowered Silent Arrow and your communities?
CS: It’s a pretty great initiative that we’re able to bring our customers in on and one that makes a real difference to so many women.
For every item that our amazing customers buy, we’re able to donate 1 pair of cotton undies to a woman in need. Being a women, you know how important it is to have clean cotton underwear; I don’t think we need to explain that in detail. Currently, in Australia alone, there are over 105,000 homeless women who often have nothing, and most of these women are homeless due to domestic abuse. Since we have launched we have been able to donate thousands of undies.
It really touches our heart when we pack them up in the office and post them to various charities, knowing that we could be the last people to touch them before they go to a woman who desperately needs them. It’s an amazing feeling.
Although we are working in the fashion industry, there are still so many ways to ensure that our passion can help others and have a positive impact on someone’s life. This is something that’s extremely important to me.
BF: How do you take time to celebrate yourself?
CS: Oooooh this is a tough question. The past couple of years I have experienced what it’s like to have gratitude. I do stress a lot about perfection, and was finding myself in a bit of a spin with my life thinking that I needed more. “ I need more money, I need a bigger house, I need to be more healthy, I need to work harder, I need to spend more time with family”. The list goes on and on. What I came to realise though, is that even if I improved all of these things by 40%, that that “WANTING MORE” feeling wasn’t going away.
Now, I have found that having gratitude and being grateful for what I have is a celebration in itself. So really, every day I celebrate. I spend my days working with amazing people, and living a wonderful life. I have found I actually have everything I need, and at this point, it is when you can finally realise you can use all the “WANT MORE” energy into giving more.
BF: If you could share some wisdom with your younger self, what would it be?
CS: Be nice to all people, and spend time exploring different cultures. I grew up in a small town outside of Melbourne which is what you could call Outback Australia. We literally did have Kangaroos hopping around the paddocks. I first travelled when I was 21, and had no real grasp of how different the world was. Culture opens up so many amazing life opportunities, and has an strong influence on fashion.
BF: Tell us about something exciting you’re working on now.
CS: Our new Fuller Cup (“Busted”) and Swimwear lines are just about to launch, so we are planning a POOL P.A.R.T.Y! This is one of the best things about working with Silent Arrow; every day is different. One day you’re a designer, the next day you’re scouting Melbourne’s hottest DJ’s and planning an event.
BF: Name one woman you admire and why?
CS: Honestly, I’m not one to admire anyone on a singular level. If I had to choose, I’d say I love Margot Robbie, Blake Lively and Anna Wintour; those girls are kicking ass!
But on a wider scale, what I’m really loving at the moment is seeing so many amazing women sharing photos of themselves wearing Silent Arrow. It takes a lot of guts to post a pic (online, no less!) in lingerie and it blows me away seeing how a product can give so much confidence and strength to people. Every single photo we see is so equally beautiful and we’re so lucky to have a community of rad women to admire.
As a woman, I feel like all women share a connection and sense of understanding with one another that transcends age, culture or race. It’s bigger than that, this connection is another thing I admire; it’s amazing.
